Donating to GlobalEyes

Thank you for considering a donation to GlobalEyes – our work is only possible with your donations.
All donations are 100% tax deductible.

At GlobalEyes, we believe that philanthropy is transitioning in time with our rapidly globalizing world, and our fundraising efforts match that belief. The sort of fundraising we do deviates from traditional conceptions about charities – you will not be invited to a gala, receive a paper-based mailer in your mailbox or answer a telephone solicitation call from us.

Instead, we use an economically and technologically efficient, online, dynamic fundraising strategy that is comprised of a series of live goals – large and small, short and long term, ongoing and one-time – so that donors can pick and choose what to contribute to and how much to give.

Donor Spotlight : William J. Johnston Middle School Faculty and Staff

The faculty and staff at William J. Johnston Middle School in Colchester, Connecticut collect money for the “privilege” of wearing jeans every Friday. Each year, these funds are pooled and then donated to a charity of their choice. For 2007, the kind folks at William J. Johnston have so graciously dedicated their Casual Friday donation to GlobalEyes.

Micro-Goals

Micro-goals are small fundraising goals that focus on one specific item, and will be introduced to our online donor community through e-newsletters. When the funds are raised, we'll set the next goal and send out another e-newsletter. As each goal is fulfilled, we'll follow-up with everyone who contributed to it with photos or video of what their donation helped to do.

Current Micro-Goal

GobalEyes recently completed construction of new latrine facilities at Dago Thim Primary School. Our next step is to initiate a feeding program for student school lunches and outreach feeding of additional meals for other hungry children in the community. For the over 600 students at Dago Thim - many of whom walk more than 2 km to and from school - this lunch will sometimes be the only reliable meal of the day. Proper nutrition is essential to the educational success of students at Dago Thim.

Recent GlobalEyes Fundraising Results

When GlobalEyes fundraisers close, we put together a thank-you letter to send to all the individual donors that details out what the donation money was spent on, including pictures of the items purchased or work done. Or partners in Kenya, Tropical Focus, have a digital camera that allows them to report on how your donations were spent. Here are some past reports that have been sent out.
