Hullo Veronica, Margee and Chacon,
Quite nice to hear from you. I am already quite o.k. and back to normal activities. We also need to really apologise for having been late on communication log. We seem to have switched off at end of March because George lost his son abruptly at home and we got engaged. Somehow, after this, the easter holidays also slowed down activities.
However currently we have settled back. Tobias will be sending the expenditure log probably this evening. Meanwhile we shall go through the list of prioroty needs and get you the feedback soon.
Yours
Caren
Dear Veronica,
Thanks so much for your last communication. I have in did been transfered, but so far things are quite fine. We still need to maintain support to these communities. Infact, the school I have been transfered to is not very far from the other one. However, it is very near my home. I want to evaluate the situation in the school so that I identify needy areas. Due to malnaurishment in the community, the feeding program should still continue.
If funds allow, even at Obede, although since I was coordinating the activities, I would like to understand the new person first. I will soon then inform you how we need to go about it. We are also very pleased to hear that Scott and Jessica are joining GlobalEyes board - they are such nice people just like you and Margee. Thanks alot also for the cash you sent. It is going to help us sort out alot of issues here.
Bye and best wishes,
Caren
Hi Veronica,
We are well and hope you too are well. Thanks alot for your e-mail. It is quite good to hear that Margee will be coming soon. My pupils are already feeding and quite happy about the meals. Their parents even praise me when we meet out by the road sides. This was really a good idea. There have been a lot of changes on the behaviour of the pupils such as reduced lateness in the afternoons, increased attendance, reduced requests for sick offs, reduced rate of afternoon dozing in class, all which I believe is related to availability of meals to the pupils during lunch time. So we really thank you for this programme.
The books relevant for the Children at the orphanage are mainly text books for maths, english and story books. For 2007, there will be 4 children in class 1, 4 in class 3 and 2 in nursery.
Also thanks for the offer of printer to Tropical focus. It will be quite useful especially once electricity is in place. Again on the feeding programme at my school, we agreed with Tobias that we use the previous funds that were intended for water tank for the Children home for feeding at Obede because the funds for feeding at Obede was to get finished from arround 16th October. Otherwise for the rest of the funds we already withdrew and bought 2 double deck beds, 2 macintosh (for bedwetters) and 2 mosquito nets. This is all I had for now. Hope to communicate next time, Bye. Pass greetings to Margee and the others.
