Urgent Attention
1. Needs for food and domestic supplies for CRM.

  1. Needs for school supplies for CRM; schools are opening in two weeks time.
  2. Stove for CRM.
  3. Toilet for Obede and Dago Thim Primary schools.
Updates and General Information
1. We conducted activities for Swim Against Malaria in August in addition to one done in July. We procured and distributed a total of 75 mosquito nets during the events. A separate report summary is attached on e-mail. Photoes are also attached.
  • The financial statements for May, June and July 2007 have also been pending. We have attached them on separate excel files.
  • It is unfortunate the check for Red Rhino Orphans could not be credited into our account. The bank informed us that the dating indicated were stale.
  • We had intended to use the funds from Red Rhino to cover CRM outstanding bills on food and domestic supplies. Because we assumed the check would be cleared soon, we went and withdrew cash which we had deposited for George's salary up to Dec 2007 from the account and used that to clear outstanding bills.
  • We received the baggage from Dr. Bertrand's house in good order, together with the printer. However, we discovered that the printer requires 110 voltage power, while Kenya domestic grid is 240 volts. We'll arrange on our side to get necessary adapter.
  • Questions
    1. There is high demand for more needy orphans. CRM can take 4 more kids. Would it be possible to incooporate them in future micro-goal budget?
  • While at the Swim Against Malaria talk at Kajwang village, we met a widow who was in quite dire need. She lost her husband and has 6 children. She is quite desperate please try any apeal for support if possible. We have included more of the story together with the separate word report summary. The lady appears together in a photo with Caren, next to the house where she lives.
