Donor Spotlight : William J. Johnston Middle School Faculty and Staff

The faculty and staff at William J. Johnston Middle School in Colchester, Connecticut collect money for the “privilege” of wearing jeans every Friday. Each year, these funds are pooled and then donated to a charity of their choice. For 2007, the kind folks at William J. Johnston have so graciously dedicated their Casual Friday donation to GlobalEyes.

Current Projects and Partners

We currently collaborate with Tropical Focus for Rural Development, a Kenyan non-governmental organization founded in 2000 by eight local community members. Tropical Focus operates a feeding program out of Obede Primary School and fully supports an orphanage, Children Rescue Mission, Kenya, in addition to deploying outreach programs for HIV/AIDS intervention and education in the community located in the Kisumu district of western Kenya.
